SPAIN, Seville, gold cob 2 escudos, Philip III, assayer G ABOVE mintmark S to right, very rare, NGC MS 61. Cal-unl; Fr-189. 6.67 grams. An unusual and unlisted variety (possibly unique) with bold full G-S to right of off-center shield (S-G to left is the norm), good full cross on rusty-die reverse, smallish flan with traces of red toning in crevices.
